David Lombardo is Cuban-American drummer, best known as a co-founder of the American thrash metal band Slayer. He currently plays drums with Fantômas, Suicidal Tendencies, Dead Cross, Mr. Bungle and Misfits. Lombardo has previously played drums on nine Slayer albums, including Reign in Blood and Christ Illusion. He has received rave reviews from critics for both of these albums. His musical career spanned 40 years, during which time he was involved in producing 35 commercial recordings of various genres. He has performed with many other bands, including Grip Inc., Philm, Fantômas, Testament and Suicide Trends, in addition to Slayer. Lombardo is widely known as an aggressive heavy drummer. Its drums have been hailed as "surprisingly innovative". Drummerworld called him "The Godfather of the Bass Couple". He had a significant influence on the metal scene and inspired modern metal drummers, especially extreme metal drummers.
